About Us
Naomi Thomas is the founder of The Wedding Wishing Well Foundation.
Read on to discover how she came about setting up the organisation:
In 2009, Naomi’s world was turned upside down when doctors delivered the devastating news that she had Breast Cancer.
In 2010, she was told it had spread and was therefore no longer curable.Naomi had been with her fiancé, Graham, for 3 years and desperately wanted to get married.
However, the burden that cancer brings to a family’s finances meant that it just was not possible.
Then in late 2011 a local wedding planner offered to help Naomi organise her wedding and also to find wedding suppliers who would work for free.
She succeeded and on 6th June 2012 Naomi & Graham married.
After the success of her big day, Naomi was determined to turn her experiences into something positive and set up The Wedding Wishing Well foundation in 2012 to help others in the same way she was to marry her prince!
Looking back, Naomi, of Wellington, Somerset said: ‘I was overwhelmed with the enormous generosity of all who helped to make my wedding a perfect day and it was made even more special knowing that without their support, it simply would not have happened'
'Working as a Wedding Planner for many years before being diagnosed with Breast Cancer, setting up the organisation felt like a natural progression for me. I thought it would be a great way to make sure others had the same opportunities as me and it is lovely to see people have the wedding of their dreams under such challenging circumstances’.
